Where Is Performance Being Lost in Your Team?

12 statements. 4 dimensions. About 4 minutes.

The instrument

Assess the team as it operates today — not as you would like it to operate. At the end, you will see which areas deserve a closer look.

Answer for today’s reality, not for how the team should work.

There are no right or wrong answers.

  1. People on the team take responsibility for their own results without constantly looking to external factors for explanations.
  2. Rejection, difficult targets and weak periods are treated as a normal part of sales, rather than reasons to withdraw or reduce effort.
  3. People enter sales conversations intending to lead the customer toward a decision, rather than simply present the product and wait for a reaction.
  4. What people know they should do is consistently visible in their behavior when the customer is in front of them.
  5. People have the confidence to ask questions, handle objections and sustain the conversation even when the customer becomes difficult or hesitant.
  6. The standard of execution remains high even when no manager is present to observe or intervene.
  7. Leaders give the team clear direction and define concretely what performance means beyond simply hitting a target.
  8. Leaders observe people’s behavior and provide feedback and coaching often enough to create real change.
  9. When someone’s performance drops, the leader looks for the cause behind the result before simply asking for “more sales.”
  10. Performance standards are applied consistently to everyone, regardless of tenure, personality or past results.
  11. High performance is recognized, while behaviors that pull the team down are addressed rather than tolerated.
  12. People on the team understand the company’s direction, what it is trying to build and how their own contribution supports that direction.

Tell Me About Your Team.

You do not need to know exactly what the problem is or which service you need. Tell me where your team is today, which results you want to improve and what you feel is holding it back. From there, we can begin to understand where the constraint sits.
